Felix Kjellberg, more commonly known as PewDiePie is the world’s biggest You Tube star. His debut book of inspirology- ‘this Book Loves You’ resulted in round the block queues of teens and accompanying parents in Manchester and London. They queued for four or five hours for a selfie, a fist bump and a signed copy. This is my own creative gift to the Creator.
The New Messiah
We don’t take gold or frankincense
for this new coming
the Prince of gaming;
instead we clutch our phones.
He checks anxiously for bars
while I kill time on mine
for virtually an eternity.
We shift our feet, perhaps
a thousand deep, curling round
tram laced streets,
creating puddles of
saturated selfies, a wave of
matchstalk mums and dads
like me, and excited teens
like him, waiting
for a blessing from
the bro of all bro’s.
With a new book of wisdom
this much the saviour knows;

We have eleven seconds

I stand unheeded
as the creator poses

with just another of his fifty
million disciples,
but this one I created
in my own image.

We are swept along
back into the streets.
In love; he leaves,
in hope; he quickly flicks
through the glossy book
of his new beliefs
while I’m flooded with relief.
